We will surely miss Marcus. He was an outstanding and valiant young man. We shared a lot of laughs and good times with him in marching band. He was a talented musician, a great section leader and a good friend. What a privilege to have known him. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. We especially want Aaron to know what a great example he was to the entire marching band, staff and boosters this season for being there for the marching band when it was tough. We hope you can find comfort in knowing that Marcus is now out of pain and free from this awful disease that he has struggled with for so long. May God bless you and watch over your family.

Karen, I know that there is nothing that we could possibly say to ease your pain, but please know that our hearts and thoughts are with you and your family right now. May Marcus forever live strong in your hearts and minds and may he forever be at peace.

I was just telling my son who lives in Salt Lake about Marcus this weekend while he was visiting with us. I don't know you, but his story touched my heart. Marcus is in a better place, with no more pain. And, you are left with pain and a broken heart with the loss of your child. May God hold you very tightly in his arms and help you through this. Only His love and time will help you through the slow healing process. You have your own angel to love you back from heaven now. In sympathy, Sandy from Leonardtown, MD.

I, also, learned about Marcus from Melanie's Blog and have prayed for God to do his will...whether by healing or taking him home. I'm so sad to hear of your loss, but my heart is happy to know that your angel will always be watching over all of you! I lost my Mom to pancreatic cancer on May 21st of this year and share your feelings of helplessness. I see her smiling face when I lay down at night and I wish the same for you. Know that Marcus is smiling and feels your love. Blessings and peace to all of you, Debi in Florida

Karen and family, I was so sorry to hear about Marcus's passing. My heart goes out to you, from one mother to another I can only imagine how hard this is for you. I'm so grateful you have the gospel in your lives and know that Marcus is only waiting for you in a different place where you'll be reunited once again. I know that was the rock that I leaned on when I lost my grandparents who raised me. Bless you with comfort from Heavenly Father until that time.

My heart is heavy with this news, but my soul feels light knowing my friend Nancy's nephew--your son and brother--is with our Lord in Heaven and out of the pain. Heaven got even more bright this week. He will live on forever here in your hearts and souls. My friends and family here in CT and elsewhere send love and prayers and peace to you.

It has been a tough 2 years and when I wanted to help you, you have lifted me up instead through your strength, courage and outlook of life and of death. I know your family will be blessed. What a beautiful funeral it was for him. It was tearful, but beautiful! We will miss him.
